Yo soy Betty, la fea (I am Betty, the ugly one) also known as “Betty la Fea” (Ugly Betty), was a popular Columbian telenovela or soap opera. (Wikipedia)

Betty La Fea is a story of an unattractive but a smart woman who works at a fashion design company, Eco Moda. Because she is unattractive, Betty usually gets discriminated but because of her intelligence, she gets promoted, becomes emotionally involved with her boss and ends up as a pretty girl after she got a makeover.

Betty La Fea was first watched in the Philippines in GMA. After some years, it was re-aired in Studio 23 and ABC 5. The show was dubbed in Tagalog.

Lately, news are circulationg that ABS-CBN will air the Philippines' Betty La Fea. ABS-CBN is still in the process of searching who will star the said teleserye. The network's choices are:

Marian Rivera, GMA 7's hottest property will star in GMA's next fantaserye - Dyesebel.

After gaining the limelight for being the star behind Marimar teleserye, Marian Rivera is priviledged to be chosen as the next Dyesebel. Marimar is set to end this March.

Dyesebel will also be directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal - a second time for both the famous director and the star actress.

Cesar Montano to star in HBO Project

Despite the ill news regarding Cesar Montano's marriage, it still doesn't stop him from his comeback career.

On Monday January 28, Palos - Cesar's current project on ABS-CBN with Jake Cuenca - will have its premiere episode. Cesar revealed that he has been a big fan of Palos eversince.
Palos is a combination of James Bond and Mission Impossible movies. 'Guess a lot will expect from this show. Palos will run for six months with a possibility to be extended. Palos will be action packed filled with new gadgets, gorgeous babes and even a talking car named Voila by Director Erick Salud.

Cesar Montano will also star in a HBO Project. The shooting for the said project will star on March in Los Angeles.

Camille Prats Already Married!

John Prats, brother and eldest sibling of Camille Prats, confirmed that his sister Camille already got married to the father of her child, Anthony Linsangan, in the States.
Camille wanted herself to share how her wedding went through, according to John Prats keeping mum about the marriage.

Camille is expecting her first-born this month.

Backstreet Boys (BSB) Live in Manila

The Grammy nominated American pop group Backstreet Boys will be heading back to Manila on February 27, 2008 at Araneta Coliseum.

The currently four member group which consists of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McLean will serenade their Philippine fans on the month of love. Kevin Richardson left the group on June 23, 2006 focusing on other interests.

The tour is in line with their current and sixth album, Unbreakable.

The band behind the hit songs This Love, She Will be Loved, Harder to Breathe, Makes Me Wonder, Wake Up Call and Won't Go Home Without You - Maroon 5 will be having a one night concert on March 5, 2008 at Araneta Coliseum.

Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby on Big Love

Star Cinema reunites Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby in a romantic comedy Valentine movie entitled Big Love.

Big Love might be compared to Gwyneth Paltrow and Jack Black's Shallow Hal. Gwyneth played the "weight-challenged" lad on Shallow Hal but on Big Love, Sam Milby will play the part of the fat guy.

Big Love is directed by Jade Castro, the director of the critically acclaimed indie movie Endo. Big Love also stars Kristine Hermosa.

The Valentine movie, Big Love, by Star Cinema is expected to clash with GMA-Regal Film's BFGF which stars Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez.

Kim Chiu, PBB Teen Edition's Big Winner, is no longer a teenybopper. Kim Chiu is the next cover girl for Manual. The theme seems that she's portraying a hot Chinese action actress. I wonder what made this teen star to go daring.

Iwa Moto of Starstruck 3 is the cover for the January-February issue of Uno Magazine. She is now seen on Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan as Amasonang Itim/Sonia Tamano. She will appear on GMA's drama fantasy Joaquin Bordado as Dianne with Robin Padilla in the title role.

KC Concepcion to sign on Star Cinema

KC Concepcion, Megastar Sharon Cuneta's oldest daughter, is set to sign a two-picture contract under Star Cinema.

KC Concepcion will also have a regular TV show on ABS-CBN but it seems that the films may be given to her first. Her first movie will have either Sam Milby or John Lloyd Cruz as his leading man.

It would be great to have him paired with Piolo Pascual but since Piolo's currently on tandem with Angel Locsion, the KC-Piolo will have to wait. Who knows it might be on KC Concepcion's second film?

KC Concepcion is also set to have her album released this year.

Incubus Live in Manila

After their 2004 visit in the Philippines, Incubus is coming back again to Manila for their 2008 World Tour.

The alternative rock band from California comprises of vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Michael Einziger, bassist Ben Kenney, DJ Kilmore and drummer Jose Antonio Pasillas. The group already has 8 albums under their name, with Light Grenades, their 2006 release as their latest.

The concert will be held in Araneta Coliseum on March 9, 2008 which unfortunately falls on a Sunday. BFGF: My Bestfriend's Girlfriend

In line with the Valentine season, GMA Films and Regal Films has come up with a Valentine movie that will make Valentine dates mushier and sweeter.

BFGF stars Richard Gutierrez and Marian Rivera. Televiewers must have seen the movie's sneak trailer having Richard alone. Richard Gutierrez' leading lady was only revealed last Sunday on SOP.

The movie started with "hate at first sight". Evo (Richard Gutierrez) and Grace (Marian Rivera) met at a stag party. Evo is the typical spoiled brat while Marian is the ordinary girl who juggles work and studies. Can these two opposite individuals accept and love each other?

This will be the first team up of Richard Gutierrez and Marian Rivera. Will the Filipino crowd accept the new tandem?

“It’s the perfect Valentine movie because people will laugh, people will fall in love, people will cry, and in the end, everyone will be happy. So lalabas ang mga tao sa sinehan na masaya at nag-enjoy. It’s really the perfect date movie!”, says Richard.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - a rock/emo band from Florida will be gracing the Philippine shores by mid this year. The band consisting of lead vocalist Ronnie Winter, lead guitarist Elias Reidy, bassist Joey Westwood, guitarist Duke Kitchens and drummer Jon Wikes popularized the songs Face Down and Your Guardian Angel.
